Keep You Healthy With Physical Therapy

Most of us are well aware of the fact that getting regular maintenance on our cars keeps them running well and having routine dental appointments keep our teeth and gums healthy preventing costly and/or painful repairs and procedures in the future. Few people are aware of the harm they are doing to their musculoskeletal system by not taking similar preventive measures. We tend to wait until there is pain before we seek treatment. Or worse, we wait until the pain severely limits our daily and sporting activities.

Many times you can prevent pain and injuries from happening by seeing a physical therapist before they ever occur.

At JK Physical Therapy, David Jongkyoon Kang, MSPT, DPT, CSCS trained to assess the risks you face and to identify areas of imbalance and restriction of joint, soft tissue and neural structures that set you up for injury and pain in the future. Specific hands-on therapy techniques are used to restore efficient mobility and body alignment. Therapy is often followed by a prescriptive home exercise program to keep you in shape, feeling your best and prevent future painful dysfunctions.

Athletes in particular benefit from understanding the functional processes and movements involved in their sport. Our specialized therapy programs both help prevent injury and maximize an athlete’s potential.

Joint Mobilization

Joint mobilization is a hands-on technique involving graded oscillatory movements to joints to restore mobility and function.

Joint Manipulation

A hands-on technique utilizing a high velocity, low amplitude thrust to restore joint movement and function.

Muscle Energy Technique

A hands-on technique requiring a voluntary muscle contraction from a precisely held position in order to gain range of motion and function.

Functional Mobilization

A hands-on technique that utilizes a combination of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and joint mobilization to increase mobility and function.

Soft-Tissue Mobilization

A hands-on technique that restores mobility and function to soft tissues such as fascia and muscles.

Therapeutic Exercises

A prescriptive meaning they are prescribed for your individual condition and tailored accordingly. Not all problems are alike and thus not everyone needs the same exercises.

Body Mechanics Training & Postural Education and Training for Children and Adults

Involves detailed instruction in proper posture with activities of daily living such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching and lifting.

The goal of all treatment is to address the cause of the problem and not just the symptom. JK Physical Therapy individually work with each patient towards tangible goals to get you back into your "game." Whether it's playing recreational tennis, taking care of your children, or an athlete competing professionally, JK Physical Therapy will help you get back to the things you live to do.
